Projects

Below are some examples of orchards that our members have started, made possible through shared resources and support.

New York

Many of our members in New York have been growing chestnuts for years. These plantings serve as an important source of wild-sourced American chestnut nuts and material for graft propagation.

Your continued involvement and dedication are deeply appreciated!

Pennsylvania

Widely regarded as prime habitat for American chestnuts, the ridges and valleys of Pennsylvania provide the perfect environment for restoration efforts. Many of our members have taken advantage of these ideal conditions to establish chestnut orchards aimed at long-term restoration and research. These sites play a vital role in supporting genetic diversity and advancing the future of the American chestnut.
